Wilsons Promontory at a glance
Wilsons Promontory National Park is a coastal wilderness on Bass Strait, with beaches, granite headlands, forest, walks, wildlife and the Tidal River visitor hub.
Country and cultural context
The Prom is culturally significant to Gunaikurnai, Bunurong and Boonwurrung Traditional Owner groups. Follow park rules and local guidance, and do not treat broad visitor information as a substitute for community-led knowledge.
Walks and beaches
Day walks and beaches can be rewarding but conditions vary. Observe signs, stay on permitted tracks, avoid unpatrolled-water risks and check weather, tides and park conditions before travelling.
Plan ahead
The Prom can be very busy and access arrangements, park works and closures change. Check the current Parks Victoria page, book required accommodation ahead and bring sufficient food, water and offline information.
